Williamsburg, VA – Newport Hospitality Group turns “pink” this October to support the worldwide annual breast cancer campaign taking place. “We turned our logo pink to highlight the importance of breast cancer awareness, education and research,” said Wayne West, President. Nearly 1 in 8 women (about 13%) in the United States will get invasive breast cancer in her lifetime reports BreastCancer.org. National Breast Cancer Awareness month is a chance to spread the word about prevention, encourage and get involved as a community. On Thursday, October 28th, 2021 Newport’s leadership team is hosting a one of kind bake sale and raffle. The public is invited to stop “buy & enjoy” the variety of special baked treats for a great cause. All proceeds will go to Breast Cancer Awareness and Research. Additionally, Newport is sponsoring a “Pinked Out” contest companywide with the team members dressing in all pink for a day on Friday, October 15th. The most ‘pink spirit’ wins and a donation will be made to the winner’s breast cancer organization of choice. On a property level, hotels are promoting curated “Stay Pink” packages offering a percentage of total promotional stays donated to the American Cancer Society. Tracy Uphold, VP of Revenue Generation advises all to expect the portfolio’s social feeds to be very pink and informative! For more bake sale event details and address to attend click here.
