Williamsburg, VA – Newport Hospitality Group’s recent sales promotion was a slam dunk generating $1.7 million dollars in new bookings. NHG’s Championship Challenge for Q1 2022 was a weeklong bracketology sales event created internally by the Revenue Generation team having the players focus on identifying and converting new business opportunities for the portfolio.
The winning team from the Home2 Suites Glen Mills Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania with their most value player Rebecca Good, Director of Sales & Marketing in true March Madness style came from behind to beat SpringHill Suites Centreville Chantilly, Virginia and SpringHill Suites Prince Frederick, Maryland. The winning coach, Brittany Alger, Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Newport Hospitality Group said, “Just like sports we went back to the fundamentals.”
The weeklong challenge created a multitude of group contracts and agreements, proposals, meetings, and social media engagements. Sales teams earned points for making calls, conducting site tours, and connecting with clients over the phone. “The challenge produced an abundance of hype with frenetic finishes and a Cinderella run. The action drew us all in and the revenue generated surpassed expectations, and more importantly built momentum for the months ahead,” stated President and COO Wayne West III, Newport Hospitality Group.
The overall event was deemed highly successful by team members and owners alike.
