Andy Simasek is the person who coordinates all Newport Hospitality Group departments in delivering a seamless management package maximizing the potential of every aspect of your hotel.
He is the ultimate hospitality generalist, having successfully worked in all phases of hotel operation and management. Andy's 20 year career has taken him from Restaurant Manager to General Manager and everything in-between.
After receiving degrees in Psychology and Public Administration at Edinboro State College and University of Pittsburgh, Andy began his hotel career in 1978 with Interstate Hotels as a Catering Service Manager at the Marriott Inn Greentree, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Later, he served as General Manager of various Holiday Inns in Virginia and North Carolina and gained multi-unit experience as a Regional Manager with Erin Company of Bangor, Maine. Andy also worked for Maryland Hospitality of College Park, Maryland.
He believes success in hotels comes from never forgetting the basics. Costs must always be monitored; service standards must always be maintained; and every facet of the product must always be the best it can be.
Andy has served on the Board of Directors for the Marketing Association of Holiday Inns, Board of Directors for the Williamsburg, VA Convention and Visitors Bureau, as well as the Williamsburg, VA and the Hampton Roads, VA Chamber of Commerce.
He has been a member of the Advisory Council for the Virginia Employment Commission and served two terms as President of the Williamsburg, VA Hotel and Motel Association.
