Tracy Uphold | Newport Hospitality Group



Currently the Vice President of Revenue Generation for Newport Hospitality Group, Tracy Uphold brings 30 plus years of sales, marketing and revenue management experience with both branded and boutique hotels. Her strengths include the ability to assess and manage geographic regions with various market conditions and an ability to deliver positive revenue and market share results.

Tracy is a passionate, ethical leader that is driven to achieve results through rigorous preparation and the development of great connections.  She aspires to the servant leader philosophy of leading by example and is always ready to help her team achieve their goals.

Tracy has directed the revenue team for various types of hotels including full-service, select-service, extended stay, budget and independent hotels.  Revenue management responsibilities include leadership of the rate strategy committee, working with property management on pricing and guiding the sales and marketing team to be the most effective by focusing their effort and marketing campaigns around need periods.

Tracy grew up in a small town in Western Pennsylvania where she learned the value of a hard day’s work from her family.  She attended Mercyhurst University and graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management.  She jokingly says her career in hospitality started when she was very young, as she would play “front desk” and “restaurant” while on vacation with her grandparents.

When not on the road for business, Tracy enjoys spending time with her husband Tom and their two dogs, Beau and Baxter, and their cat Mickey Donovan.
