As Chief Financial Officer, Nancy Nunn is responsible for supervising the accounting department at Newport Hospitality Group. She works with her team to deliver accurate financial information for operations personnel and for property owners as well as internally for the company.
Nancy consults with the management team to ensure accounting policies and procedures are communicated effectively and properly applied. She also oversees the various banking relationships that NHG has developed over the years in order to comply with owners’ needs and preferences.
After graduating from James Madison University with an undergraduate business administration degree in accounting, Nancy began her career in the public sphere. She became an audit manager primarily focused in real estate-related entities, contractors and credit unions, furthering her interest in real estate when she took a regional controller position with a hotel management company. With that experience, she then went back into public accounting and worked in the tax arena where her primary focus was the hospitality industry.
In addition to her certification in public accounting, she obtained her accreditation in business valuation through the AICPA examination process and is a charted global management accountant. Through her varied experience, Nancy has learned to work with people inside and outside of her organization to generate precise financial reporting, tax preparation and planning for large and small businesses.
When she’s not in the office working with her team, you may find Nancy enjoying time with her family at the beach.
