Andy Simasek coordinates all of NHG’s departments so together they can deliver a seamless management package that maximizes a hotel’s potential. With his 35 years of industry experience as a general manager, food and beverage manager and everything in-between, Andy is the ultimate hospitality generalist, and this broad knowledge base allows him to effectively integrate all phases of hotel operations.
After receiving degrees in psychology and public administration at Edinboro State College and the University of Pittsburgh respectively, Andy began his hospitality career in 1978 with Interstate Hotels as a catering service manager at the Marriott Inn Greentree in Pittsburgh. He then served as general manager for various Holiday Inns in Virginia and North Carolina before gaining multi-unit experience as a regional manager with Erin Company based out of Bangor, Maine as well as with Maryland Hospitality.
Andy has served on the board of directors for the Marketing Association of Holiday Inns, Choice Hotels Owners Council, Williamsburg Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau, Williamsburg Hotel/Motel Association, Williamsburg Virginia Chamber of Commerce, and the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce. He is also a founding member of the Williamsburg Restaurant Association.
Above all, Andy believes that success in hotels comes from never forgetting the basics. Costs must always be monitored, service standards must always be maintained and every facet of the product must always be the best it can be.
Since most of his week is spent traveling for business, Andy enjoys his free time sticking close to home. Along with Mary Grace, his wife of 37 years, he enjoys cooking, gardening and hiking the many scenic park trails throughout Virginia.
