Williamsburg, VA (September 16, 2013) Newport Hospitality Group (NHG) has recently appointed hospitality industry veteran, Wayne West, as its new COO. He was brought in to support the company’s rapid growth.
In this role, West will be responsible for coordinating operations across NHG’s portfolio. In addition, he will oversee all corporate positions that support the daily operations of NHG’s properties. NHG currently operates 30 hotels in 10 states.

West brings to NHG 30 years of hospitality and tourism experience. He has held several positions as General Manager primarily in the Carolinas, Virginia and Florida. He also served as a Regional Director of Hotel Operations supervising properties in the Southern United States and the Midwest. Prior to joining NHG he served as Chief Operating Officer for Spire Hospitality (formerly Lane Hospitality). He attended East Carolina University and has been named a certified hotel administrator by the American Hotel and Lodging Association.
